I didn't write The Glamorous Room because the world needed another decorating book.

There are plenty of those.

I wrote it because I think we've forgotten something.

We've become so focused on what a home is supposed to look like that we've forgotten to ask a much more interesting question:

What do you want your home to feel like?

Somewhere along the way, decorating became a little too safe.

Neutral walls.

Neutral furniture.

Neutral everything.

And suddenly everyone seemed to be living in the same room.

Beautiful?

Sure.

But where is the personality?

Where is the woman?

Where is the fun?

Where is the wow?

I've always believed that your home should tell me something about you before you ever say a word.

It should have a point of view.

It should have some confidence.

And, yes, I think it should have a little glamour.

Because here's what I believe:

Beautiful is blah. Glam is everything.

Beautiful isn't bad.

Of course we want beautiful.

But beautiful without personality? Without a point of view? Without something that makes you stop and look twice?

Blah.

Glamour is different.

Glamour isn't about having the biggest house or spending the most money.

It's not about proving anything to anyone.

It's about being intentional.

It's about knowing what you love.

It's about recognizing the difference between something that's simply pretty and something that makes you feel something.

That's what I wanted to explore in this book.

I wanted to talk about the things that make a room memorable.

The things that make you walk through the door and think, Oh, I love this.

The things that make a home feel like it belongs to you.

And I wanted to talk about something else, too.

The woman who lives there.

Because I don't believe your home should disappear behind your responsibilities.

Your home shouldn't be nothing more than a place to sleep, store things, raise children, work, clean, and repeat.

At some point, you have to remember yourself.

What do you like?

What makes you happy?

What makes you feel beautiful?

What makes you stop and say, This is so me.

Those questions matter.

And maybe that's why I wrote this book.

Not to tell you that your home should look like mine.

Not to give you another list of things you have to buy.

And certainly not to tell you that you need a bigger budget to have a beautiful life.

I wrote The Glamorous Room because I believe your home deserves a little more thought.

A little more personality.

A little more confidence.

And maybe...

a little more glam.

There is much more I could tell you.

But I'm going to save some of it for the book.

After all, I'm not giving away all my secrets on the internet.

You'll have to read The Glamorous Room for that. Shop for it here on Amazon: https://a.co/d/0ch8tVu6
